How to get to Sporthotel Silvretta Montafon

Travelling by car

If you travel to Vorarlberg’s southernmost valley by car, we recommend the following routes:

Following the Pfändertunnel, take the A14 Rheintal motorway, passing through Ambergtunnel, and continue towards Bludenz/Montafon. From there, take L188 Montafoner Straße (Silvrettastraße).

Take the Zurich/Chur motorway via Chur, exit at Gams and continue via the Principality of Liechtenstein and Feldkirch towards Bludenz/Innsbruck. Take the A14 motorway to Bludenz/Montafon, passing through the Walgau region, and continue along Montafoner Straße L188. Alternatively, you can take the motorway from Zurich/St. Gallen and exit onto the A14 motorway towards Bludenz at Oberriet-Meiningen, driving through Ambergtunnel. 

Take Arlbergschnellstraße S16 via Arlberg and exit at Bludenz/Montafon. From there, continue along the L188.

Do you prefer public transport?

Travelling to Gaschurn by bus

For those who prefer to leave their car at home, the bus might be a suitable alternative. For example, you could take the Flixbus to Bludenz and continue your trip with the Montafon Railway from there. During your stay in the Montafon valley, it’s easy to get around using the local and regional busses.

Travelling by train

Avoiding the traffic jam is easy! Especially during peak season, it’s advisable to consider travelling by train. Thanks to Austrian Federal Railways, Swiss Federal Railways, Deutsche Bahn and Dutch Railways, which take you up to Schruns station, it’s quick and comfortable to reach your holiday destination. From there, continue to Gaschurn with the Montafon Railway, which runs every 30 minutes between Bludenz and Schruns.

Taking to the air

Travelling by plane

Will you be arriving by plane? Friedrichshafen and St. Gallen-Altenrhein airports are about an hour away from the Montafon valley. Innsbruck and Memmingen airports are about 1.5 hours away. From Zurich-Kloten airport, it takes approximately two hours and from Munich airport about 2.5 hours to reach the south of Vorarlberg.

How do you get to the Montafon region from the airport? For instance, by train or with a rental car! Plus, during peak season, the montafonJET airport transfer runs from Friedrichshafen airport to the major villages of the Montafon region.
